A Muslim lady has triggered conversations on social media after reacting to the growing trend of interfaith celebrations among young Nigerians.

Lady defends interfaith celebration

In a viral post shared online, the woman referenced how many Christians participated in Eid celebrations and photoshoots alongside Muslims, adding that she should also be free to wear Christmas-themed pyjamas in December without criticism.

Her statement quickly generated mixed reactions online, with some users praising the spirit of religious tolerance and coexistence while others argued that faith boundaries and religious teachings should still be respected.

The discussion has since continued across different social media platforms as Nigerians debate cultural exchange, religion, and modern expressions of unity.

Reacting to the issue online, the Muslim woman insisted that mutual support and celebration between religious groups should not become one-sided.

“Y’all saw how Christians joined us in celebrating Eid with their Eid shoot and we all hyped them. Make nobody quote Quran verse for me if you see me in Christmas pyjamas this December o,” she wrote.

Conversations on religious tolerance continue

Her comment attracted thousands of reactions, with many users supporting her stance on peaceful coexistence between Muslims and Christians in the country.

“Life is already hard in Nigeria. If people are celebrating peacefully together without hatred, I honestly don’t see the problem,” one social media user commented.

The development comes months after several interfaith celebration trends gained popularity online, especially during Eid and Christmas festivities, where Nigerians from different religious backgrounds shared themed outfits, photoshoots, and goodwill messages on social media.
