Isaac Fayose criticises governance and insecurity, says Nigerians face two governments

AdminBy AdminJune 10, 2026Updated:June 11, 2026No Comments2 Mins Read

Businessman and social commentator Isaac Fayose uses metaphor to criticise both governance and insecurity in Nigeria.

Speaking in a video shared on social media, Fayose argued that Nigerians appear to be burdened by two parallel systems of authority, one represented by government institutions that collect taxes, and another represented by criminal groups that demand ransom from victims of kidnapping and insecurity.

He expressed frustration over what he described as the failure of authorities to adequately address the country’s challenges, suggesting that many citizens continue to face hardship despite paying taxes.

Fayose also criticised the growing prevalence of kidnappings and ransom demands, describing the situation as evidence of deeper problems within the country’s security and governance structures.

Drawing comparisons with other nations, he argued that countries with stronger institutions and effective governance tend to provide better living conditions for their citizens.

Sharing a video of himself abroad, he said …

“In Nigeria we have two governments. One is collecting tax the other one is collecting ransom. Both of them have one thing in common which is to make life difficult for their people.

The one that is collecting tax without doing anything will come and share you rice and semolina. The one that is collecting ransom is doing giveaway on social media.

One country, two governments. One collecting tax, one collecting ransom. But in other countries they have one government and their country is developed. Let me show you….”
