Football icon Lionel Messi has expressed gratitude for his remarkable career after delivering a stunning hat-trick in Argentina’s World Cup victory over Algeria.

Speaking after the match, Messi said he has no further demands from life, crediting God for the success and achievements he has enjoyed throughout his career.

The Argentine captain noted that his focus now is simply on enjoying football and appreciating every moment on and off the pitch.

The eight-time Ballon d’Or winner also said he feels honoured to be regarded as one of the greatest players in football history, stressing that he is grateful to be mentioned alongside many legendary figures who have shaped the sport.

The interview went thus …

Leo Messi: “I can’t ask for anything more, God gave me too much, now everything is just to enjoy.

“I’m just happy to being considered as one of the best in football history, I’m just grateful to be considered among many great players…”

Messi’s comments came after another masterclass performance in which he scored three goals to lead Argentina to victory, further adding to an extraordinary career that has already seen him win multiple league titles, continental trophies, and the FIFA World Cup.
