At 21, Peller isnt too young to marry – Man defends young content creator amid criticism

A Nigerian man has reacted to criticism surrounding content creator Peller’s decision to marry at a young age.

The man, identified as Edo Baba on Facebook, shared his opinion while defending the content creator against criticism over his age.

“21 Is Not Too Young To Marry”

In his post, Edo Baba argued that getting married at 21 should not be viewed as unusual.

According to him, people often delay marriage for different reasons such as poverty and others.

Compares with Older Generations

He went on to use people from earlier generations as an example, stating that people in the 1940s and 1950s often got married in their late teens and early twenties.

He also referenced his father and veteran Nollywood actor Pete Edochie to support his point.

“My dad had his first child at 25. Pete Edochie had his first child at 23,” he wrote.

Calls for Support Instead Of Criticism

The Facebook user urged people to stop criticising the couple and instead show support as they begin a new chapter.

He argued that negative comments directed at the relationship only create unnecessary pressure.

In his words:

“At 21, Peller isn’t too young to marry. The two reasons why people marry late are poverty and obirins narcissism.

In the 40s and 50s, people marry in their late teens and early 20s.

My dad had his first child at 25. Pete Edochie had his first child at 23.

People should cut the young couple some slacks.

Negative talks about their marriage are bad energy.”
