Nigeria midfielder Frank Onyeka has pledged to give his all for Coventry City after completing his permanent move from Brentford following the club’s promotion to the Premier League.
The 28-year-old initially joined Coventry on loan in January, with an agreement that the transfer would become permanent if the Sky Blues secured promotion.
The move was confirmed after Frank Lampard’s side won the Championship.
Onyeka targets strong Premier League campaign
Onyeka featured 14 times during the second half of the season, helping Coventry return to the Premier League.
Speaking after the transfer was completed, the Super Eagles midfielder expressed his excitement about continuing his career with the club.
“I’m really excited for the new season with Coventry,” Onyeka told the club’s media.
“When I first joined last season, I came here with two goals: to win the Championship and help Coventry get promoted to the Premier League.”
He added: “I’m really happy to now be a Coventry player back in the Premier League.”
Midfielder promises full commitment
The former Brentford player said he is determined to contribute both on and off the pitch as Coventry prepare for life in the top flight.
“I will give everything to the team, fight for every ball, fight for my team-mates and bring my experience,” Onyeka said.
The Nigerian international also outlined the club’s objective for the upcoming campaign.
“My ambition now is to help the team stay in the Premier League and finish as high as we can.”
