Prime Video Picks Up 100-Plus Korean Dramas From CJ ENM in Multi-Year India Deal

AdminBy AdminJuly 27, 2026No Comments3 Mins Read

Prime Video is deepening its investments in Korean content for the world’s most populous country. The streamer’s India arm on Monday unveiled a multi-year licensing deal with Korean entertainment giant CJ ENM that will bring more than 100 Korean titles to Indian subscribers over the next two years.

The pact covers a slate of 26 new series rolling out across the period alongside a broad array of library titles, all of which will be included with a standard Prime membership. Every new title will carry English subtitles and dubbing in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu.

The new agreement extends the global distribution deal the two companies struck in May 2025 at the WAVES market in Mumbai, which gave Prime Video worldwide rights, outside Korea and China, to a collection of new series from CJ ENM, Studio Dragon and CJ ENM Studios through 2026 — launching with the fantasy romance Head Over Heels — plus library titles.

The first CJ series headed to India under the new pact will be Yumi’s Cells season three, the latest installment of a franchise the companies say has topped streaming charts in 81 countries. The pipeline also includes Filing for Love, which the partners credit with reaching No. 1 in 105 territories, alongside The Legend of Kitchen Soldier and romantic comedy My Bias, My Boss. Library additions range from such recent breakouts as Dear X and Study Group to catalog favorites Search: WWW, Prison Playbook and Legend of the Blue Sea.

“Building on our strong global relationship with CJ ENM and the deal announced last year, we’re excited to deepen this collaboration with a sharper focus on India,” said Shilangi Mukherji, director and head of SVOD business at Prime Video India.

“Prime Video’s unmatched reach in India, combined with its deep investment in local audiences, makes it the ideal partner to amplify our content to millions of new viewers,” added Jangho Seo, executive vp of CJ ENM’s platform division.

The India pact is the latest in a rapid series of deals that have seen CJ ENM — the Korean studio giant behind Bong Joon Ho’s Parasite and production houses Studio Dragon and Fifth Season — ink output deals with various major streamers across Asia‘s top territories. Last October, the company struck a partnership with Warner Bros. Discovery that installed a branded hub for its TVING streaming service on HBO Max across 17 Asia-Pacific markets, with the two sides also co-producing original K-dramas for global release. Weeks later, Disney+ signed on as the exclusive home in Japan for up to 60 TVING and CJ ENM titles. The company’s production prowess was also foundational to Netflix’s global success as a distributor of Korean content, with CJ’s Studio Dragon feeding the U.S. streamer many of its early K-content hits.
