Popular Nigerian comedian Mazi Okeke has stirred reactions online after opening up about the emotional pain he says he experienced following the collapse of his relationship with his fiancée.

In a heartfelt statement shared online, the comedian claimed that the woman cheated on him despite the significant financial and personal sacrifices he made throughout their relationship. His revelation has since attracted sympathy and sparked conversations about trust and commitment in relationships.

Comedian recounts sacrifices for fiancée

Mazi Okeke said, “My fiancée cheated on me. This is someone I invested my life and money in. I’m not the kind of person who comes online to talk about my personal issues, but this really hurts.”

He went on to explain the extent of his support during the relationship.

Later, he added, “I paid her school fees from 200 level through her final year, opened a shop for her, and even built a house for her parents. Looking back, I feel so stupid.”

The comedian’s emotional account quickly gained attention across social media, with many users expressing sympathy over his experience.

Social media users react

His post has generated mixed reactions, with some Nigerians commending him for speaking openly about the emotional impact of the betrayal, while others encouraged people to avoid making life-changing financial commitments solely on the basis of a romantic relationship.

As conversations continue online, Mazi Okeke’s story has reignited debates about love, loyalty and the risks of investing heavily in relationships before marriage.
