Christy Knowings, who starred on the beloved Nickelodeon sketch comedy series All That, has died. She was 46.
After suffering an asthma attack that left her with brain damage on Friday, Knowings was hospitalized and placed on life support, a family member told TMZ. Her family made the decision to take her off it on Tuesday and she died later that night at a Los Angeles-area hospital.
Knowings appeared on 32 episodes of All That, from 1997 to 2000. The series, dubbed the “Saturday Night Live for kids,” featured comedic skits and parodies performed by children and teens, as well as weekly musical guests.
The show’s cast also included Kenan Thompson, Amanda Bynes, Nick Cannon, Kel Mitchell, Josh Server, Kevin Kopelow, Lori Beth Denberg, Alisa Reyes and Katrina Johnson. All That ran for a total of 10 seasons from 1994 to 2005.
Thompson, who later found more success on SNL, took to his Instagram on Thursday to pay tribute to Knowings, writing, “Man this one hit hard!!! Rest well Christy!!! Never could have imagined this day!! Sending so much love to her family!! She was a real one and one of the funniest people out here!!! Gonna miss you buddy!!! Show@christyknowingssome love y’all!!!”
Knowings’ other on-screen credits included New York Undercover and Sesame Street.
