A mother has sparked discussion online after sharing a stern message to her 12-year-old daughter over alleged disobedience, social media use and what she described as disrespect.
In the message, the woman explained that she had bought the girl a phone with the instruction that it should only be used for WhatsApp. She said she later took the phone away after discovering that her daughter had downloaded TikTok despite her warning.
The mother said her concerns were partly about protecting the child from unwanted attention online, particularly from adult men who might contact her through social media.

She said, “I can’t promise to give you fun and happiness like other kids because we cannot leave above our means. But I have never been wicked to you and you know it.”
The mother further reminded her daughter that she had made sacrifices for her and expected her instructions to be respected while the girl remained in her home.
She added, “As far as you’re under my roof, you’ll take instructions if not we will go down together.”

She also told the girl that if she believed she was old enough to take care of herself, she could leave the home and stay with her father.
