My cousin used ₦150k I gave her to start business for clubbing — Lady shares

AdminBy AdminMay 22, 2026Updated:May 22, 2026No Comments2 Mins Read

A Nigerian lady has sparked heated reactions online after narrating how her younger cousin allegedly used ₦150,000 meant for business to fund a night out at a club.

The lady, who shared her experience on X, said she decided to support her cousin financially after several family members described the young woman as hardworking and serious about starting a small business.

According to her, the money was handed over in good faith with the expectation that it would help the cousin become financially independent.

However, things reportedly took a different turn just weeks later when she came across videos of her cousin partying at a nightclub and spraying cash with friends.

Shock after discovering club videos

Recounting the incident, the lady said she was stunned after seeing the Snapchat posts and immediately questioned her cousin about the business plans.

She wrote: “Last month, I gave my younger cousin ₦150k to start a small business because the whole family kept saying she was serious and hardworking.”

“Two weeks later, I saw her on Snapchat spraying money in a club with her friends.”

According to her, the cousin admitted using the money for enjoyment instead of investing it.

“Life is short. I used the money to enjoy myself first.”

The statement, she said, left her deeply disappointed, especially after the sacrifice she made to provide the financial support.

Family reaction fuels frustration

The situation reportedly became more upsetting after another family member defended the cousin’s actions.

The lady disclosed that her aunt later contacted her and urged her to be more understanding because the cousin was still young.

“What annoyed me most was that my aunt still called me later and said I should ‘understand her’ because she’s young.”

Feeling betrayed and unsupported, the woman said she decided to stop offering financial help to relatives altogether.

“Since that day, I stopped helping relatives financially.”

She added that several family members have since accused her of being proud and wicked over her decision.

“Now everybody in the family is calling me proud and wicked. Was I wrong for cutting everyone off after that?”
