If your car breaks down in the middle of nowhere, do this… – Nigerian soldier advises Nigerians

A Nigerian soldier has gone viral after sharing practical safety advice for Nigerians on what to do if their vehicles break down in isolated locations.

In a video circulating on social media, the soldier urged drivers to prioritize their personal safety over their vehicles or valuables whenever they find themselves stranded in potentially dangerous areas.

Soldier Shares Safety Advice

According to the soldier, the first thing anyone should do when their vehicle develops a fault in a lonely place is to remain calm.

“Gentlemen, if your car breaks down in the middle of the road or any lonely place, pay attention to this. These are the things that you should do to keep yourself away from danger. Number 1: Don’t panic. Calm yourself because if you panic, you will be confused, and once you are confused, you cannot reason well.”

Keep a Distance From the Vehicle

The soldier also advised not to stay too close to their broken-down vehicles, especially in risk zone areas.

“Number two: Keep a distance from that vehicle. You cannot be too close to the vehicle. Remember, this vehicle can be replaced. If anything goes wrong with your life, you cannot be replaced.”

Remove Your Valuables

He further advised people to remove visible valuables such as jewelry and wristwatches and keep them out of sight.

“Number three: All the valuables on your body, things like necklaces, rings and wristwatches, take them away from your body. You can package them and even hide them, maybe inside your pants or anywhere. Think smarter. Reason. Your life cannot be replaced. Stay safe at all times. My message be that.”
