A lady has sparked widespread reactions on social media after sharing why she avoids making friendships with men, claiming that many eventually reveal romantic or sexual intentions.
In a viral video circulating online, the woman said her personal experiences have convinced her that most men do not approach friendships with women without expecting something more.
According to her, it often takes only a few weeks before a man’s true intentions become obvious.
“Let me tell you the reason why I don’t make friends with men. You see men, give them two weeks. Just two weeks into that friendship, you will find out their true intentions, and their intentions na always to sleep with you.”
She added that while some men may take longer before expressing their intentions, she believes the outcome is usually the same.
“Only two weeks though. If the guy is a bit pretentious, well wait one month.”
Explaining why she keeps very few male friends, the woman said she only maintains relationships with two men whom she has known for a long time through school.
“As I did, I don’t have male friends. The only male friends I have, two of my male friends, just two male friends that we’ve been good and we’ve come a long way.”
She clarified that even those friendships are not particularly close but are built on mutual respect and a long-standing acquaintance.
“They may be my course mates and it’s not like we’re friends, friends, you know, but we do relate well, you understand.”
The woman concluded by insisting that she no longer believes men approach friendships with women with purely platonic intentions.
“I don’t make friends with men. Their intention is never pure. Their intention not to ever be pure.”
