A heartbreaking photo of UNIJOS model, Ibrahim Mbaya, has resurfaced online, detailing his ordeal before death.
It would be recalled that Ibrahim Mbaya, a 25-year-old UNIJOS graduate popularly known as ‘Ibee’, passed away.
UNIJOS Model Passes Away
According to the Plateau State Police Command, he was brought unconscious to the Jos University Teaching Hospital on July 26 after being allegedly assaulted by a group of youths, and was confirmed dead on arrival.
According to the Police, he was accused of stealing an iPhone 12, and witnesses alleged he was beaten for several hours to force a confession.
Heartbreaking Photo Remerges Online
The photo posted by @the_abujagist on Instagram shows the model hung on a washing line .
According to @the_abujagist, Ibrahim Mbaya was tortured for hours before giving up the ghost, while the missing iPhone 12 was eventually found.
In the photo that has broken hearts online, his hands were tied to his legs with a red rope, while a young man beside him looks unbothered.
In a recent development, Four suspects have been arrested, while efforts are ongoing to apprehend others linked to the incident.
His death has sparked widespread condemnation from the National Association of Nigerian Students and the UNIJOS Alumni Association, who are calling for justice.
