A man has advised young people against rushing into marriage, reflecting on his decision to get married at the age of 30 and the circumstances that influenced it.
The man, who shared his personal experience, said he would have waited longer if given another opportunity, stressing the importance of achieving personal goals and putting necessary things in place before settling down.
He explained that losing his mother at a young age played a significant role in his decision to marry early.
According to him, young people should focus on building their lives rather than allowing societal pressure to dictate the timing of marriage.
Man reflects on marriage decision
The man said, “I got married at the age of 30 but if I could turn the hands of time I wouldn’t get married at that age. I would get married when I have put a lot of things in place.”
He also shared some details about his personal lifestyle, noting that he does not smoke and only tasted alcohol for the first time at the age of 37.
The man added, “For the younger generation, there’s no need to rush. What you’re going to enjoy in future, there’s no need for you to rush so you won’t blame yourself at the end of the day.”
He urges young people to take their time
He further encouraged young people to remain focused and avoid trying to move ahead of their natural pace.
“Focus always win the race. Don’t run faster than your shadows. Take it easy,” he advised.
His comments have sparked discussion around marriage, personal preparation and the pressure young people face to settle down early.
The advice ultimately centres on patience, preparation and allowing people to reach important personal milestones before making major life decisions.
