Real Madrid star Kylian Mbappe has responded after being booed and jeered by the club’s supporters when he was substituted on against Real Oviedo last night.
The France international has been out of action recently with an injury, but it’s been a chaotic time at the Bernabeu, and fans are generally unhappy with the state of the team.

This has led to some conspiracy theories taking off about Mbappe not really being injured and simply choosing to go on holiday during the season, though the 27-year-old has hit out at these claims, insisting he was given permission to take a break.
On top of that, Mbappe aimed a dig at caretaker manager Alvaro Arbeloa by saying that he felt he was fit enough to play in the recent El Clasico match against Barcelona, only to be left out and told he was now the fourth choice forward.

Speaking in the mixed zone last night, as quoted and translated by Football Espana, Mbappe had some interesting things to say about his rather crazy situation with the Madrid fans at the moment.

“It’s a shame not to play in El Clasico, a match that I love because I always score. It was a shame. But the whistles… it is life. We cannot change the opinion of angry people,” Mbappe said.
“It is a way of expressing their opinion and you should not take it personally. I’ve been whistled many times in my career. It’s the life of a Real Madrid player, and especially someone famous like me.

“I don’t know (why they whistled). I had the club’s authorisation not to be in Madrid and I wasn’t the only one in the squad who wasn’t there (at El Clasico). But these are things that must be accepted. We must look ahead and change it.”
He added: “Ask the coach.I was ready to start (against Barcelona), but it’s his decision. He told me I’m the fourth attacker in the squad. I can’t be angry with him; you have to respect their opinion. I have to work and wait to be a starter.
“I don’t have any problems with (Arbeloa).I’m not going to have a problem with not playing. You have to accept the coach’s idea because everyone has their own ideas and philosophy. I have to work to be better thanVini, Mastantuono and Gonzalo.”

Mbappe is only in his second season at Real Madrid, and his performances on the pitch have been at his usual high standard, with the former PSG man scoring 85 goals in 101 appearances.

Still, he’s not yet been able to help the club to success in major competitions, with Real under-achieving in La Liga and the Champions League while he’s been there.
We’ve already seen Fichajes linking Mbappe as a target for Liverpool, and one has to wonder if he’ll put up with this current situation for much longer.
There’ll surely be plenty of interest in Mbappe if this continues, with former Arsenal midfielder Emmanuel Petit also suggesting his old club could make a move for him.
“If Arsenal win the Champions League for the first time then it would change the course of their history and send a strong message in the transfer market,” Petit is quoted by theSun.
“Players would of course want to play for the Champions League winners and hope they can go and win it again, it would help them attract Kylian Mbappe if he does leave Real Madrid.”
